A love of travel took me to sea straight out of college. I have now spent fifteen years serving as an officer and captain aboard research vessels, private yachts and luxury boutique cruise ships all around the world.
I know the cruise and travel industries inside and out. Those industries are changing quickly and I've got the inside advantage. I can help you pick the perfect suite, itinerary, ship, dates, and cruise extensions so you have the best possible experience.
Where I’ve been
The monuments of the world are famous for a reason, and you should still see them. Just don't fight the crowds. I'll find you a better way in: an early entry, a private guide, or a vantage point most visitors never find.
Food shapes how I plan a trip. I'll never send you anywhere built for tour buses. You deserve a real culinary experience and I'll always find it for you.
Many of my best memories came from things no guidebook mentions. I look for those for you, and I only suggest the ones I'm confident you'll love.
What does a luxury travel advisor do?
Design: I design a trip tailored exactly for you. I never re-use an itinerary because I know everyone travels differently.
Execute: I handle everything from talking to vendors and securing tours to monitoring weather patterns and political upheaval.
Advocate: Many times when I book I can secure you benefits and perks with my partners not available to every guest.
Relieve: I work while you relax and enjoy.
Support: I'll be on call day and night on your trip to assist with any problems.
Do you charge a fee?
Yes. My planning fee is $200 per trip, and it's credited toward your trip when you finalize your booking. The fee is otherwise non-refundable since it covers the time I spend researching and designing your trip. I'm also paid a commission by the cruise lines, hotels and charter companies I book with.
Which cruise lines and hotels do you work with?
Through my host agency, Legato, I work with the world's leading luxury travel companies, including The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Four Seasons Yachts, Silversea, Seabourn, Explora Journeys, Ponant, Cunard and Scenic, along with expedition, river and overland specialists.
Do you only work with travelers in North Carolina?
No. My office is in Wilmington, North Carolina, but I plan journeys for travelers across the United States. Everything can be handled by phone, Zoom, Whatsapp or email.
How far in advance should I start planning?
At least 9 to 12 months gives you the best choice of ships, suites and dates, especially in peak season. Shorter timelines may have fewer opportunities available but are always worth pursuing.
